We are builders, we never run from a challenge, we are customer-centric, and if this sounds like you, we know you will thrive in our team.We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager – Brazil to lead Brazilian tax compliance and transactional tax matters, ensuring full adherence to federal, state, and municipal regulations.This role will be responsible for reviewing tax filings, managing tax risks, overseeing local tax analysts, and partnering closely with regional and global tax teams to ensure strong internal controls and efficient tax processes across dLocal’s Brazilian operations.What will you do?Tax Compliance & ReviewReview and validate Brazilian tax returns at federal, state, and municipal levels (IRPJ/CSLL, PIS/COFINS, ISS, ICMS, among others)Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of withholding taxes (IRRF, PIS/COFINS/CSLL, INSS, ISS)Oversee tax account reconciliations and support monthly and quarterly closingsEnsure timely and accurate tax filings and payments in compliance with local regulationsTransactional Taxes & IOFManage and review transactional taxes applicable to international merchants, with a strong focus on IOF (Imposto sobre Operações Financeiras)Ensure correct IOF application and rate determination across FX, credit operations, remittances, and cross-border transaction flowsReview IOF reporting, reconciliations, filings, and supporting documentationPartner with Product, Payments, Treasury, and Operations teams to assess tax impacts of new transaction flows and operational changesMonitor regulatory changes impacting IOF and other transactional taxesTax Control, Advisory & MonitoringPrepare consolidated tax information, including withholdings, payments, and tax creditsMonitor tax positions and exposures, identifying risks and ensuring appropriate documentationProvide tax guidance on incentives, deductions, credits, and regulatory requirementsSupport new product launches and business initiatives from a tax perspectiveAnalyze Brazilian tax reform and assess its impact on dLocal’s operations, recommending necessary changesStakeholder & Authority ManagementManage interactions with tax authorities (RFB, SEFAZ, and municipalities)Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure high-quality compliance and advisory supportWork closely with Finance, Legal, Product, and Operations to ensure proper tax treatment and reportingInternal Controls & Continuous ImprovementMaintain and enhance internal tax controls aligned with global standardsDevelop, document, and update tax policies and operational proceduresIdentify opportunities to streamline tax processes and improve efficiencyStay up to date with changes in Brazilian tax legislation, especially those impacting cross-border paymentsWhat skills do you need?Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field9+ years of experience in Brazilian tax, ideally within fintech, payments, technology, or multinational environmentsStrong knowledge of Brazilian tax regulations, including IRPJ/CSLL, PIS/COFINS, ISS, ICMS, IOF, eSocial, ECD/ECF, DCTFWebStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detailStrong ownership mindset and accountability for deliverablesExcellent communication skills in Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plusExperience working with ERPs and tax automation tools; SAP experience is a strong plusAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentNice to haveExperience in fintech, technology, or payments companiesPrevious experience leading, mentoring, or supervising junior team membersExposure to cross-border tax matters and multinational structuresWhat do we offer?
